Alien beach party!

Jack enjoys his time on the TARDIS, he really does. And it's great fun to see just where she's going to take them next. But every now and then, it's nice to just be able to relax without worrying about Rose being drowned by shark people, and he knows a certain someone who could do with getting out and about more often.

He's got everything all set up on a massive stretch of beach that seems to go on for miles and miles, with no one else really around. He's wearing swimming trunks (since the Doctor has successfully instilled in him the habit of not going naked just because he can), and has a pair of beach towels laid out, with a big brightly colored beach umbrella staked in the sand between them.

"Sometimes refreshing, I've found, but I'm an old fuddy duddy."

Jack cocks his head to the side a bit, unfamiliar with that terminology. "What's a fuddy duddy?"

"Basically, a boring old man," he says, stretching his arms above his head, reaching up, then dropping his arms again with a slow breath out.

[fractured_agent]

"I didn't think you were that old." Jack rolls to one side, propping himself up on his elbow, his head resting against his knuckles.

"Turnin' twenty-four this next month, but I've got all these old man walkin' problems." He curls onto his side, too, to match.

[fractured_agent]

"Well you're not boring, so you can't be any kind of fuddy."

[victormakesart]

"You're just a whole bundle of cute today, aren't'cha," he says, grinning toothily at him.

[fractured_agent]

Jack pretends to preen a bit. He's sexy and he knows it. "It comes naturally."

[victormakesart]

"I'm sure. You fifty-first century boys, you've perfected charm and looks."

[fractured_agent]

"I can't take all the credit. I've had extensive genetic engineering."

[victormakesart]

"Heaven bless science." He stretches his legs once more (pop, pop), and rises with a little bit of difficulty, pushing his foot in a semi-circle through the sand.

[fractured_agent]

"What're you up to?" Jack asks curiously.

[victormakesart]

"Just playing," he says, turning in a careful circle. "Wanna dance?"

[fractured_agent]

"Sure." Jack is not at all bothered by the lack of suitable music, or any music at all. And he hops up easily, ignoring the sand stuck to his elbow. "Do you know the Denuvian waltz?"

"I don't. Can you teach me?" A wide, earnest smile, and he's starting to understand why people like to go outside. It helps that it's not his planet.

[fractured_agent]

"Sure I can! Just remember, it's made for folks with five tentacles for locomotion, so if you feel wobbly or fall over, everyone does."

[victormakesart]

"I'll just have to do the best I can with four limbs and questionable balance."

[fractured_agent]

"Hey, it's all we can ask for." He extends a hand, and begins leading Victor through a complicated series of steps in slow motion. It's not the rigid sort of steps of human dancing styles, it's a lot more fluid, more like oozing from one step to the next.

He laughs when he makes mistakes, is sometimes klutzy, often uses the wrong foot, and has a hard time bending and turning, but he is having so much fun, and is a good mimicker.

Jack chooses his moves well, and if ever there's a time when Victor falls, there's soft sand there to help cushion the blow. Even at slow speeds, the moves can be a bit dizzying, but he's big and strong and makes a good handhold. He's smiling too, showing pearly white teeth, and laughing like older Jacks rarely do.

This Jack feels more like a peer than an uncle to her, and he's totally charmed by that smile of his, and he actually doesn't stumble when he's looking at his face and not his feet. (He does fall. Like seven times. But it helps that Jack is strong and the sand is gentle.)

"Hmm, the last time I danced like this, it was in a bar on Kepral Two. Dancing's illegal there."

[victormakesart]

"Who'd you dance with like that there?"

[fractured_agent]

"A monk who was evangelizing an obscure little folk religion from a colony planet. He was protected by law, but I wasn't. Fortunately they're really lenient on first time offenders; I just had to say I was really sorry and I wouldn't do it again." He looks amused by that, grinning at the memory.

"Lucky ducky, you. That's the sort of day you just wouldn't forget. How'd you dance this on a table without fallin' flat on your noggin?"
