It's been a few months since the team got their first lessons in psychic shielding, and once again, the Hub is open to April's expertise. Though he knows they're having guests, Jack doesn't push anyone to clean up the clutter so it looks better. The Hub is still a work space, and a chaotically changing one at that. They're all used to it by now, and Jack knows April won't mind.

Ianto is manning the tourist information office upstairs, as usual, and he knows that April is coming.

There were a few conflicting moments during the reviews with the staff. April feels a little wound herself, not sure how best to provide solutions, or even if it is something that can be changed.

She heads out of the room to find Jack.

Jack is in his office, waiting for her. Ianto and Gwen are still in the Hub, but they're at their own workstations, keeping an eye on the Rift.

Jack has a glass of brandy on his desk, breaking his usual rule of no alcohol. He really needs something today. There's a mug in front of the chair on the other side of the desk, hidden from sight from the others, waiting for April.

April slides into the chair, finding her mug with a small smile. Jack does know her well. And she needed a hit of blood.

"Tough day..."

[fractured_agent]

"For everyone," Jack agrees. "You all right?"

[slayers_desire]

"Emotional drained..."

"And I hate... hiding myself from them."

[fractured_agent]

"I know how you feel." He wants to keep things from his team, but it's also hard to do that some days.

[slayers_desire]

"A piece of yourself was revealed today. How are you handling that?" She is concerned for him.

[fractured_agent]

"Still getting a handle on it," he admits freely. "I don't know how I'm going to explain this to Tosh."

[slayers_desire]

"She does have a lot of questions. About the both of us."

[fractured_agent]

"What are you going to tell her?"

[slayers_desire]

"She knows I am not human. I told her that already."

"I don't know how she will react to the whole... vampire thing."

[fractured_agent]

Jack looks down into his drink for a moment. Then checks to make sure neither Ianto nor Gwen are close enough to listen in. "In the past, Torchwood knowing about my little trick hasn't gone so well. But Torchwood was different back then. Different people, different policies... I think Tosh can handle it."

"What about the others?" There was almost a moment for her to embrace the Beast today...

[fractured_agent]

"You're worried about Owen." It isn't a question. Jack's worried about his reaction too. "I don't think he would be revolted by you or anything, but he wouldn't exactly be sensitive about it."

[slayers_desire]

April has a feeling that the Torchwood team could use her services again. Especially with whatever might be waiting around the corner, because of the Rift interruption.

"It might be better to tell them, before it gets revealed."

[fractured_agent]

"Maybe. But that's up to you. I wouldn't tell them about the Nexus though."

[slayers_desire]

"No. Definitely not. That is a little too complicated."

[fractured_agent]

Jack also says nothing about telling his team about his own unique talent. Or his history. "Either way, without Tosh and Owen here, you might want to wait for the whole team to be here at once," he guesses. "Unless you want to tell them one on one."

[slayers_desire]

"It might easier to do it all at once."

"Besides, I think I had enough emotional drama today." She smiles, sipping from the mug.

[fractured_agent]

"So've I." His thoughts turn back towards the Captain. There are still regrets, but he's more at peace with it now.

[slayers_desire]

"I am glad you got to meet Captain Harkness in person. I know tonight was difficult... but you truly live up to the kind of man he was. Brave. Loyal. Kind."

[fractured_agent]

Jack lets out a slightly shaky breath. "You think so?"

[slayers_desire]

"Of course I do."

[fractured_agent]

"I wish I could've told him he would be remembered." Jack has already decided to never forget Captain Jack Harkness, no matter how long he lives.

"Always. By all three of us."
