[OOC] 30 Days of Character Development - Day 7
Is there one event or happening your character would like to erase from their past? Why?
On some levels, Jack would like to erase the invasion of Boeshane. On another level, he knows that hostilities would just come later, so he probably would want to just alter things so his brother wasn't taken and his father didn't die.
Where does your character live? Why did they choose it, and how did they acquire it? How do they handle intruders (graciously? violently?)? Describe the space.
Jack is currently homeless. By the time he makes his next Nexus post or interacts with anyone, he'll be living exclusively in the Torchwood Three Hub, which is also his place of work. The Hub is a secret, multi-story underground facility hidden underneath Roald Dahl Plass in Cardiff, Wales, carved out over time during the entire twentieth century. The main area is three stories tall and open in the middle, with offices and equipment along the outside. The mirror sculpture above extends downward into the Hub, all the way to the floor, and is surrounded by water. The upper wall holds an eyrie for a pterodactyl, which was adopted by the team after it came through the Rift. Jack's office is on the opposite wall, holding his few personal belongings and his desk, and in the floor is a manhole hatch which leads to a small sleeping space which holds a bed and his clothes, and very little else. The Hub proper can be accessed through a nearby tourist information office near the waterfront, or through an invisible lift connected to a paving stone in front of the sculpture which is under a perception filter. The Hub also contains extensive alien and historical archives, secure containment cells, a firing range, an autopsy room (which often doubles as a medical bay), and a cold-storage morgue among other things. The entire Hub is monitored and controlled by an organic sentient computer named Mainframe.
He does not live there by choice at first, but it quickly becomes the safest place for him to live, so he stays. He does not own the Hub until the dawn of 2000, when Torchwood Three's leader at the time commits a mass homicide-suicide against himself and the team, killing everyone but Jack. While Jack is in charge, intruders will be judged by the manner of their intrusion and dealt with accordingly. So someone who enters violently would be met with more violence, someone who enters curiously will be assessed and possibly have the last few minutes of their memories erased (given a retcon pill), etc. Invited guests and those deemed to be trustworthy will be welcomed in, though not necessarily given free rein.
