What’s your character’s ranking on the Kinsey Scale?
In the 51st century, most people are past categorizing themselves by sexual preference; you just love who you love, and no one cares what gender or species they are. By the standards of the Kinsey scale, Jack would be a solid 3, but it doesn't describe him completely because he also flirts with the nongendered, species with more than two genders, species with only one gender, and so on. Basically if they're of age to consent and are receptive to his advances, he'll hit on them.

Resources and abilities:
Where did they learn their abilities? His empathy is genetic, though his ability to use it is currently still traumatized from having his first bondmate tortured to death when he was sixteen. The majority of the rest of his skills come from his training at the Time Agency, including multiple galactic languages and etiquette, history, combat skills, interrogation techniques, psychic shielding, and so forth.
If they have an income, where does it come from? He had accumulated a lot of money through running cons against the Time Agency, but lost most of it when his ship blew up.
Do they have a job? Do they like it? How do they feel about their co-workers? He doesn't have one yet, but he's about to get a job at Torchwood Three while waiting for the Doctor to return to Cardiff. He won't like it much since he's basically coerced into it, and his first round of coworkers are cold and cruel towards aliens, but by the time he advances to being in charge, he gets to pick his own team and enjoys it a fair bit, shaping Torchwood in a way he thinks the Doctor would approve.
